![]() ![]() I am actually not confident the installers were available that soon, but even if they were, 8 years is plenty of time for a disc to be scratched or a CD Key label to be damaged, especially since many of us were in high school back then and likely less careful than adults. Patch 1.12 from 2008 ago said downloadable installer support, however it mentioned the install options that would allow you to play without a physical CD in the drive in 2008 (music file copy for Full install, or re-install Full from CD). ![]() I tried searching for when those were available. Once you register D2 on BN, the key will be there forever. If I am not too much busy/lazy mine is out next summer? Now… 9 more guys please! Otherwise it’s going to be the casual 1-2 guys like me who are going to do “something”, but it won’t be polished as it should, or it would not be ready for presentation as it should (understand lack of Copyrights, all languages translated, console support, etc.) We really need the common player to dive into the underground of modding, start playing involved with the project he likes the most and promote mods’ developemnment from inside. The important detail is, that this can happen only with the help of the common player. But they won’t bother to do it as well, unless we (the modding community) are ready with the big guns in our hand. I’ve already laid out how mods can work with Blizz’s permission, I won’t bother to do it again. But if we are ready with 10 such mods in the community, from different groups, we can officially knock on Blizz’s door and start to look more serious in their (marketing) eye. “Here are the boys, here are the hot mods, it’s your turn to create official battle-net space to host our mods.”Īnd if I am alone in this, trust me, next summer, nobody will even bother to answer me. But we need more good mods, exceptionally suited for online play, ready to be presented and used as a hammer to knock on Blizz’s door and say: ![]() I do it, because someone has to do it, obviously. I don’t want to disclose much as of now, but the basics should be ready for around the end of this year and hopefully the playable version will be out for SP around mid 2024. I already have an idea for a project that can be suitable for online gameplay. ![]()
